Chopal / Village Life Of Punjab
In the rural areas of Punjab, the farmers take steps in their fields from initiation to dusk. In the evening period just to relax most of the farmers accumulate in a place called Chopal. It is at par back the town hall of a city but quite. It serves as a Community Centre where the men folk assemble to direct advices of the elders and to allow their disputes without going to courts (later jirgas). But normally majority of them chit chat and chat for pleasure of mammal together. The youths sometimes sing Mahya and Heer. Women and girls operate not visit chopals of villages but they accrue together just about wells and canals where from they fetch water and they have mutual discussions about home child maintenance matters.
